Welcome to Kuala Lumpur ! Part One

Yes ! This week I am sharing with you about Kuala Lumpur that I had went last few months ago.

Kuala Lumpar is the federal capital and most populous city in Malaysia. It is among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in the country, in terms of population and economy.

What is so special about Kuala Lumpur ?

1. Petronas Twin Towers 
( Kuala Lumpur City Centre )

The magnificent twin towers, built by the country's national oil company Petronas, is located on a site that was previously occupied by the Selangor Turf club. The 452m (1,483ft) tower is a second taller in the world.

A trip up to the skybridge that is free! The opening hours for the skybridge from Tuesday to Sunday, 9a.m till 7p.m , to take in views of the city is a must for many visitors. Access limited to 1,700 people daily. You are recommended to come at 7.30a.m to get the ticket to access the skybridge. The counter is opening at 8a.m.

Good views of the Twin Towers can be had from the adjoining KLCC Park, through photography angles are better from Jalan Ampang and Jalan Tun Razak, and from the upper floors of area hotels.

2. Sungei Wang Plaza

Nearest Monorail : Bukit Bintang

KL's street-style central and the stomping ground of trendy youths, Sungei Wang is without a doubt the destination of unique, cutting edge fashions as well as the latest gadgets and many more.

3. Petaling Street Bazaar

Daily Hours : 4.30 - till late

Nearest LRT : Bangsar

This bustling street market is packed with tourists and local browsing for ethnic jewellery, pirated DVDs and copies of branded accessories. Most goods here are counterfeit and probably won't hold up to close serenity. 

You are can take a break after shopping, take a seat at one of the many restaurants in the area and people-watch.

4. Jalan Alor in Bukit Bintang

The whole stretch of street that selling local food! 

Most of the tourist will stop at the Alor street just to have a heavy dinner! It very delicious and reasonable price.

5. Berjaya Times Square

Daily Opening : 10 a.m. - 10 p.m

This massive mall offers medium-priced and lower-end merchandise in its 900 outlets, including the world's largest Borders bookstore. Also includes other diversions like cineplexes (including an IMAX theatre) and the large indoor theme park Cosmo's World.

1. Wear Casual clothes as the weather always HOT !

Johor Bahru IT ROO Cafe

Hey Guys ,

Sorry for not updating my blog...

I would like to share with you something that is unique and comfortable place to dine at Johor Bahru Town. It just near the woodland checkpoint. A short walk distance to the cafe.

What are they selling ?

They are selling Western dishes, fried rices, Chinese dishes, noodles dishes, soup and sandwiches and desserts. The price range is quite affordable.

e.g Their Chicken Chop is only RM13 and Claypot Mee RM7.

This is their claypot mee which is delicious especially their gravy is thick. Their ingredients are fresh. 

The famous chicken chop in Town ! * A Must Try *

So, there is two kinds of chicken chop. There is grilled or fried chicken chop to choose for. However, I prefer a fried chicken chop dish. It is quite big portion. The potatoes is really delicious!

Ice Blended Cappuccino ( RM 6.90 ) and Lemon Barley (RM3.30).

The ice blended cappuccino is really thick but taste very nice !

Overall, I really enjoy it. The place is so relax and you don't even feel like you are in Johor Bahru Town. A great place to chill and dine at...

Another Top 5 places must go in Bangkok !

6. Chao Phraya River & Waterways

A beautiful place to view of Bangkok city.18km long section of these canals are served by express boats providing a fast, inexpensive means of cutting across traffic-infested Bangkok. They run between 5.30 am and 8.30 pm each day, arriving approximately every 10 to 15 minutes and stopping at 27 piers. Fares range between 10 and 20 baht, depending on how far you travel. 

During rush hours, try to stay away because it is dangerous and a lot of people pushing around. However, it is convenient for shopping and sight-seeing. There are temples, market and etc. 

Tips : Simply wave them down and wait patiently for two helmeted deckhands to jump ashore, ropes in hand for fastening.

7. Chatuchak Weekend Market

The most famous and biggest weekend market in Thailand. A must visit in Bangkok because its sheer size and diverse collections of merchandise will bring any seasoned shoppers to their knees – this is where you can literally shop ‘till you drop’.

How to go there ?

Take the Skytrain (BTS) to Mo Chit station, take exit no. 1 and follow the crowd until you see rows of canvas stalls selling clohtes. Turn right while continuing to follow the crowd and you will see a small entrance that leads into the market (clothing section).

Operation Time : Saturday and Sunday 9a.m - 6p.m.

                             Fridays 6p.m. - 12a.m.

Tips :

1. Wear comfortable shoes as you will walk long distances.

2. Wear light and comfortable clothing as weather is very HOT !

3. Bring enough cash as most of the vendors don't accept credit cards and the ATMs are very far away.

4. Take good care of your belonging as there are many pickpockets.

5. Bargains !! * Important* ( Be Friendly and smile )

8. Khao San Road  

A famous place for Nightlife because there are many pubs and clubs over there.

Most importantly of all, the air of youthful abandon which permeates the place 24/7 is still here, unashamedly and comfortingly intact despite the seemingly unstoppable influx of fast-food outlets (Starbucks, McDonalds and Burger King) and incongruous shopping malls.

How to get there ?

From either Victory Monument, Siam, or Silom taking metre Taxi. ( cost roughly 100bahts )

Take from Victory Monument ( Rajavithi Hospital bus stop ) pass Ratchadumnoen Road. You can get off at Khok intersection ( one stop away from Democracy Monument). 

9. Soi Cowboy in Bangkok

Soi Cowboy was named after the cowboy hat-wearing African-American who opened the first bar here in the early 1970s, this red-light district has a more laid-back, carnival-like feel to it than Patpong or Nana Plaza.

A place to chill and party all day long! Entry is always free and drink prices are fixed. The bars usually close at 2.30a.m. 

How to get there?

Soi Cowboy is just next to Terminal 21 !

10. Jim Thimpson House

A speciality museum that filled with a magnificent collection of Asian art and many unique displays. 

There is a shop selling silks shirts for men, T-shirts, scarves and bags for women.

Location : Opposite the National Stadium 6 Soi Kaseman 2 

                  Rama I Road, Bangkok

Built in 1782 and for 150 years the of the Thai King, the Royal court and the administrative seat of government- the grand palace of Bangkok is a grand old dame indeed, that continues to have visitors in awe with its beautiful architecture and intricate detail, all of which is a proud salute to the creativity and craftsmanship of Thai people. 3. Floating Markets

There are many floating markets and riverside around Bangkok. The most famous floating market for foreign tourists is Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Ratchaburi Province.

However, Taling Chan Floating Market is actually a famous market in Bangkok. Many vendors selling fruits and other produce.

There is another floating market which is Tha Kha Floating Market in Samut Songkhram. This floating market caters for local people because not many tourists will visit as it is not so easy to get to and is not on many tour routes.

Don Wai Floating Market is another market which selling all kind of delicious food. However the market is at riverside. 

4. Chinatown ( Yaowarat )

It is a good place to head to for a wonderful dining experience. Many of tourists come here to try their bird nest because it is very cheap and affordable. 

It is also home to countless gold stores, medicine and herbs dealers and markets that seem to go on forever. Exploring the narrow alleys and markets is a great way to get a feel for this lively area of Bangkok.

In the daytime, Chinatown Bangkok (เยาวราช) is home the Sampeng Market which is one of the city's busiest wholesale market for textiles, fabric and random trinkets. In the night, Charoen Krung road and Yaowarat road transforms into a street food paradise - some of the most famous stalls in the city.

However, you should miss out their Wat Traimit - The Temple of the Golden Buddha.

Tune Hotel Downtown KL which located at 316 Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, 50100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. 

It just 5 mins walk to Medan Tuanku Monorail station for direct access to Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) via KL Sentral LRT station (28 mins by express train to KLIA). Which is really great location to stay at KL ! 

It is really a cheap bargain !

About the Hotel Facility  

Before you check-in the hotel, the counter will ask you whether you want air-conditioning, TV ( entertainment package), In-room Wifi and towels with toiletries that is chargeable. If you don't want air-conditioning there is ceiling fan! Mostly, everyone will get air-conditioning so that they can sleep well. There is  laundry at level 7 which is coin-operated self-service. At the lobby, there is subway, mini-mart and other fast food cafe. The mini-mart is 24-hours operate. 

There is lift which is operated all levels. It is easy access by taxi ! *Not much taxi driver know about this hotel*

About the Room ( double bed room )

* Good Point *

1. The room is clean and tidy.  

2. There is a safety box for you to put your important things. The safety box is big enough for you to put your 13-inch laptop. 

3. The bed is very comfortable just like 5-stars hotel bed standard. 

4. The toilet is very clean. There is hot and cold water to bathe which I like it a lot.

* Bad Point *

1. The room is not sound-proof.

2. The room is too small which you cannot put so much things on the floor.


This budget hotel provide what the important thing you need in hotel than others facilities that you don't need. In most of the day, you will be at the outside. When you reached hotel, you just want to have a hot bathe and a comfortable bed to sleep. No points paying the facilities that you don't need or never use at all. 

A good choice to stay if you don't mind paying your transport.
